Get on stage with me · salsa choreography
This isn’t a course — it’s a project with a deadline. You learn a 1-minute-50 routine —“Amor mío, no te vayas”, by Gilberto Santa Rosa — on your own, with every video on the platform.
I correct you along the way, online or at in-person meetups in Madrid. And when it’s time, we put it together as a group — whatever changes it takes to make it work.
Lower-intermediate level — with a bit of dance background, you’ll learn it in one or two weeks. And in the end, you dance it with me, on a real stage.
How It Works
at the Bootcamp
1 · The videos
The full choreography and a breakdown of how to dance every part, on the platform.
2 · You study it
At your own pace. This is the part you do on your own, and it’s the part that has to get done.
3 · I correct you
Online, and at in-person meetups in Madrid where we fix whatever’s off.
4 · We put it together
As a group, with whatever changes it takes to work as a group.
5 · You dance it
On whichever stage comes up.
It doesn’t matter if you dance leader or follower — it’s the same open call for both roles. There are no separate spots — what counts is that you learn the choreography.

of the Bootcamp
“Amor mío, no te vayas”, by Gilberto Santa Rosa. 1 minute 50 seconds. Intermediate level — this isn’t a demanding choreography: it’s built to be danced well, not to be hard.
Projects come up depending on what events there are, so there’s no fixed calendar. If you want me to let you know about the next one, just say so and I’ll write to you once there’s a date.
My
company
Valyrio · Partnered On2 Salsa
Valyrio isn’t a course or a one-off project — it’s my company. You join to actually train, with several teachers and the occasional guest.
We build real choreography — more demanding than BootCamp’s — and perform wherever the opportunity comes up.
Upper-intermediate level. Valyrio isn’t open year-round: you join when there’s a spot open for your role.

Training
Afro fundamentals once a month with a dedicated teacher, turn technique, and lift and partnering technique.
The choreography
More developed than BootCamp’s, with partner work and shines. We work on style and detail.
Show
Once the choreography is ready and the group can perform it, we dance wherever the opportunity comes up.
Spots
and auditions
Valyrio is a partner salsa company, so places are organized by leaders and followers and by what the group needs at each moment.
Entry is by audition, which Julio Chang and I run to assess your level, your way of dancing and whether you fit what the company needs.
Places are not open all year round. When we open a call, we say which roles we need to bring in.

The level and the focus. BootCamp is one specific choreography you learn to perform with me. Valyrio is a company you belong to: more training, more demanding choreography, and more rehearsal.
You don’t need to come with a partner. What you do need is people in both roles: since the choreography is partnered, opening a spot for one role means there has to be someone in the other. That’s why sometimes there’s room for leaders and not followers, or the other way around — it’s not about level, it’s about the numbers working out.
Right now we need leaders. If you dance that role, message me and I’ll let you know about the next audition.
Through an audition, run by Julio Chang and me. We look at your level, your dancing and whether you fit what the company needs at that moment.
Spots are by role, leaders and followers, depending on what the group needs. And auditions aren’t open year-round: when one opens, we say which roles we need to bring in. If you’re interested, message me and I’ll let you know about the next one.
You take on BootCamp with the idea of performing at one of the open calls — if what you want is to fix specific things, that’s private classes. Valyrio asks for more: 2 hours a week as a group, one for training and one for choreography, and you’re expected to rehearse on your own too.
